Welcome

Welcome to the first Windsor High Synchronous Blog Session.

You will be working in groups to answer these questions. Your group may only utilize one computer, and you must come to agreement on your final posting through conversation.

If you get sick of your group and want to join another group, that is fine, but each group may only have a maximum of 5 members who receive a grade.

You are allowed to utilize any resource--the book, your notes, the internet (include a link), Storybirds (include a link), or other groups.

You must respond to five questions and four peer responses. A response to a question and a peer response for the same question does not count as two responses.

You must answer each question or response as true or false, and you must support your answer with information from the texts (notes, internet, movie or book).

If you want to listen to the conversation of another group, and then return to your group and present their material as your own, that is an acceptable scientific procedure.

Your group will be graded on the thoughtfulness, originality, and presentation of your answers. The more support you provide, the better your grade will be.

Have fun, and keep it school appropriate.

Forgiveness

Betty and Veronica are the only characters in the book who don't deserve forgiveness.

Memories

As they drive away from the reservation towards the city, Checkers reaches out to touch the galloping horses. When the band left the last time, for the concert in Seattle, she didn't go along because the horses still held her.

Victor

Victor is a mean man who only thinks about himself. The movie happened first, so his experience then didn't have a lasting effect.

Humor

Sherman Alexie uses humor just to keep the audience laughing.

Truth and Lies

In the film there is a point where Sonya Song (Arnold Joseph's ex-girlfriend) asks Thomas if he wants lies or if he wants the truth. Thomas responds by saying "I want both." This is evidence of Thomas as a trickster character.

Faith

The character most motivated by faith is Father Arnold.

Robert Johnson

Robert johnson is right when he tells Thomas, "It's beautiful here [on the rez]."
